SALVATION ARMY  

VOR is the Salvation Army Unit for Maywood area residents.  As a Salvation Army Unit Service Extension Program we provide emergency assistance to residents of Maywood.  There are 178 other agencies serving 178 communities also throughout the metropolitan Chicago area.  The goal is to provide supportive assistance to people during crisis situations and to identify other community resources, which may provide additional help.  Emphasis is placed on building an individual's capacity to solve problems (long term solutions), not just provide services (short term solutions).
